You may have noticed advertisements on the home page and discussion pages. While there aren't many expenses involved in running this site, there are some bandwidth and domain expenses, so we decided to try a few industry-standard ad blocks and see what happens.
It's an experiment, but if everything goes really well, this could literally provide tens of dollars per year to offset expenses.
If you're not seeing any ads, don't worry—we've configured them so that they only show up on pages if you are not logged into the site.
You are not logged in right now, so you'll need either to log in, or join the site by registering (it's free) if you don't want to see the ads.
Oh, and for now, there are no ads in the RSS feeds, since no one has to login to read them and they take a lot less bandwidth. Let us know if you have questions.
