With OU’s 49-17 victory at Baylor yesterday to open Big 12 Conference play, the deck is now cleared for the Red River Rivalry. #1 OU next faces #5 sɐxǝʇ at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas. ABC-TV coverage in High Definition starts at 11:00 AM CDT on Saturday, so if you don’t have a ticket, be in front of the best TV you can find, wearing your red and white and prepared to cheer on our Sooners and our Pride of Oklahoma!
The Pride begins the sɐxǝʇ trip Friday morning, as usual. They’ll rehearse and exhibit at Duncan High School at about 9:30 AM on Friday morning, followed by a performance Friday night at a Dallas-area high school football game, and two pep bands headed to two separate alumni functions. Check our Events calendar to see where you can see The Pride this weekend if you’re in Big D for the Big Game.
At halftime, The Pride performs a salute to The Who, featuring Dr. Roland Barrett’s new arrangements of Pinball Wizard, Won’t Get Fooled Again, and I Can See For Miles. If you’re in Dallas, be sure to watch the show, because the following weekend’s show will be completely different.
That’s because the following Saturday is Homecoming 2008! We should know the game’s kickoff time within the next 36 hours, and we’ll try to get a schedule posted here and on the Events calendar just as soon after that as we can.
